Most food stamp recipients have already received their benefits for the month of August, as they have been loaded onto their EBT cards. The distribution occurred in waves, with those whose case numbers end in zero through three receiving their payment during the first wave on Aug. 1. Those with case numbers ending in four or five saw their benefits during the second wave on Aug. 4.
Beneficiaries with case numbers ending in six through nine will receive their benefits during the third wave on Aug. 7, which will complete the distribution of food stamp payments for the month.
The next round of monthly benefit payment distribution will begin on Sept. 1, following the same schedule as the August payments. To be eligible for food stamp benefits in Virginia, a person’s income must not exceed a certain threshold based on household size.
