Payment Schedule:
- Households with digits 00 to 03: Payment on the 1st of the month
- Households with digits 04 to 06: Payment on the 2nd of the month
- Households with digits 93 to 95: Payment on the 27th of the month
- Households with digits 96 to 99: Payment on the 28th of the month
To qualify for SNAP in the Sunshine State, residents need to have a gross monthly income that is less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level.
The maximum payment varies depending on the household size. For example, a household of one can receive up to $281, while a household of three can receive up to $740. If you have a household of five, you may be eligible for up to $1,116. Additionally, an extra $211 is included for each household member over eight.
Did you know that around 2.85 million people, which is approximately 13% of Florida’s population, receive SNAP benefits? The average payment per household member per month is $180.
Florida’s SNAP benefits can be used to purchase a variety of essential food items, including breads, cereals, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, poultry, dairy, and even plants and seeds to grow your own food. However, please note that SNAP cannot be used to buy alcoholic beverages, tobacco, prepared foods, or pet foods.
