August SNAP Payments for California Food Stamp Recipients
Exciting news for recipients of California food stamps, also known as CalFresh under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program! Your August payment will be arriving in just one day.
The payment dates for August SNAP payments in the Golden State start on Tuesday and run through Aug. 10. The specific payment date depends on the last digit of your SNAP case number.
Payment Schedule:
- If your case number ends in 1, expect your CalFresh benefits on Tuesday.
- If your case number ends in 2, CalFresh benefits will be available on Wednesday.
- Payment dates continue until Aug. 10, when those with a case number ending in 0 will receive their payment.
The amount of SNAP benefits you receive is influenced by various factors, including household size, income limits, and additional assets.
In California, the average payment per eligible recipient is $196 per month. For a household of one person, the maximum payment is $281 each month. A household of four can receive up to $939, while a household of eight can receive up to $1,691. If you have more than eight household members, the CalFresh program adds up to $211 for each additional member.
Nearly 5 million Californians, which is around 13% of the state’s population, receive CalFresh assistance each month, according to 2022 data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
