Get Ready for September SNAP Payments in Colorado!

The ​Supplemental ⁢Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Colorado is gearing up to provide grocery ‌aid to low-income households. If you’re a recipient, mark your calendars because payments for September will be sent out ‌in just five days!

The SNAP program in Colorado runs from September 1st to September ⁤10th. The exact payment dates, however, depend on the last digit of your Social Security number. So, keep an‌ eye ‌out for your payment!

How Much ‍Will You⁣ Receive?

The amount of SNAP‍ benefits you’ll get depends on various factors, including your ‌household size, income, ​earned income, and unearned income. ‌For example, if you’re an individual, you could receive up to $281‍ per month. But if you’re part of a four-person family, the maximum payment ⁢is‍ $939. And‍ if you⁢ have a household of ⁣eight, you could receive a maximum payment of ​$1,691. For each additional member, the program adds a maximum of $211.

Who’s Eligible?

Most Colorado households with income below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible for SNAP. For instance,⁢ a household ⁤of one must ⁢have a gross ​income limit of $2,266 per ​month. A household of four is⁤ limited to $4,626, and a​ household of eight can’t exceed ‍$7,772.

How to Use Your Benefits

Your SNAP ‌benefits will be loaded onto‌ an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card. Think of it as a debit card⁣ that can be used at qualifying⁤ stores. You ​can‌ purchase eligible grocery items ⁢like bread, dairy⁤ products, meat and poultry, ​and drinks. However, please note that pet food, alcohol, and household items such as soap and paper products are ineligible for⁣ purchase.
