Forecasters for California warn of a devastating storm
Forecasters predict a powerful storm that will strike Northern California on Wednesday, and it will continue to Friday. Officials are warning residents. “this is truly a brutal system” That “needs to be taken seriously.”
The National Weather Service predicted that the storm that hit downtown San Francisco on New Year’s Eve that brought the second-wettest day on record was just a sample of what was coming to the area, CBS reported.
“To put it simply, this will likely be one of the most impactful systems on a widespread scale that this meteorologist has seen in a long while,” According to the National Weather Service Bay Area office, the statement read.
“The impacts will include widespread flooding, roads washing out, hillside collapsing, trees down (potentially full groves), widespread power outages, immediate disruption to commerce, and the worst of all, likely loss of human life,” It was also added.

The outlet stated that a flood watch was issued for the area on Wednesday at 4 AM local time through Thursday at 4 PM.
The NWS Projects “rapid rises on creeks and streams, downed trees, multiple mudslides across the region, power outages,” adding, “One area of concern is the Russian River near Guerneville.”

The NWS warned that strong winds were expected to affect most of the state’s northern region, especially from Mendocino County and Monterey County.

NWS’s post included a series of graphics showing severe amounts of rainfall up and down the northern CA coastline, with warnings of landslides and rockslides.
In the central part, heavy snowfall is also possible. NWS in Hanford The Sierra Nevadas will issue a winter storm warning from Wednesday through Friday at 4 o’clock in the morning.
According to the weather service, travel in this region is predicted to be “extremely difficult or nearly impossible,” Snowfalls of 1 to 3 feet are possible between 6,000 and 7,000 feet, while snowfalls of 6-12 inches is possible from 5,000 to 6,000 feet.
