Former Arizona GOP candidate sanctioned over ‘groundless’ voter fraud claims in midterm elections
A Arizona state judge has imposed sanctions on former GOP candidate Mark Finchem After the Republican had filed suit to contest his election, midterm election loss Last year, that was declared to be “groundless and not brought in good faith.”
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Melissa Julian made the ruling The Secretary of State Adrian Fontes was awarded a victory on March 1. In December, Fontes filed a motion to block Finchem’s entry into the United States. Julian upheld Fontes’ claim that Finchem had claimed that thousands of Republicans had been disenfranchised.

Finchem sued shortly after his election loss. He claimed that technical problems in Maricopa County prevented at least 200K GOP voters from casting ballots on Election Day. Although election officials acknowledge that printer problems caused delays at many polling stations in the county on election night that prevented tabulation, they insist that every voter who attempted to vote was able to.
