Former first‍ lady Rosalynn Carter is now reportedly ‌receiving hospice care‌ at ​her residence ​in Plains, Georgia,⁤ due‍ to ​her struggle with dementia.

The Carter​ Center made the announcement on Friday, revealing that ⁢Rosalynn Carter, the former ⁤first lady, is now under ​hospice⁤ care at her ⁢residence in Plains, Georgia. This decision was made due to ⁣her ongoing battle with dementia.

The ‌announcement comes after her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, 99, entered home hospice care ‍in February. The couple, who celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary in July, holds the record for being the longest-married presidential couple.

“She and President‍ Carter are spending time​ with each other ​and their ⁢family. The Carter family continues⁣ to ask for privacy and remains grateful for the outpouring of love and support,” Jason Carter, the Carters’ grandson, said in the⁤ statement⁢ released by the ⁢Center.
