Ex-Florida GOP chair slams RNC for yielding to Trump’s dominance

A Bold Critique on RNC’s ⁢Transformation Under Trump’s Influence

In a fervent call to action, Al‍ Cardenas, former Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, has made his disapproval crystal clear regarding the hold former President Donald Trump has on the Republican‍ National Committee (RNC).

“The RNC fired 90 people — now the operation is‌ scant; the‌ headquarters ‌is moving to Palm Beach; it’s now essentially run ‍by Trump’s daughter-in-law; in essence it has become an ⁤asset-less shell while Trump exercises control ⁤over the GOP through his PACs as he sees ‍fit,”

Cardenas expressed in an impassioned tweet. His voice rings with the urgency of one deeply concerned about the direction in which the organization he once⁢ led is heading.

The Underlying Concern

Cardenas himself served the Republican ‍Party of Florida diligently, ascending from vice chairman to chairman, and held the distinguished role of an RNC member. ⁤His dismay is further compounded by the ⁤silence of current RNC members, who, in his view,‍ are abdicating their responsibilities⁤ through inaction.

“If you are a member of the RNC (as I was), ‌what⁤ are you doing?‌ You have a responsibility to the organization you‍ swore ‍to serve — your silence and inaction is scandalous, and you bear equal responsibility,”

cautions Cardenas, urging his former colleagues to reflect on their duty to the party and ‌speak‍ up against the tidal shift occurring ⁢within.

The Tipping Point

His declarations⁢ come on ‌the heels of penetrating changes within the RNC, ⁢spotlighting the recent hiring of Christina ⁤Bobb, known for her legal work ‍for Trump and former reporting for the One America News Network, as senior counsel for election integrity.

The seismic shift within the ‍RNC was solidified last ‌Friday when ⁣ Trump’s chosen figures restructured ⁣the party’s leadership. Michael Whatley is to take the helm as the new chairperson,‍ with Lara Trump, the former⁤ president’s daughter-in-law, appointed as co-chairwoman. Trump’s influence didn’t stop there; ⁤his ⁣favored campaign ⁢operatives, Chris ⁣LaCivita and James Blair, assumed senior roles within the RNC. Moreover, an upheaval of staff changes swept through the organization’s ranks, igniting a wave of terminations and reapplications, as ⁤reported by various media.

Further complicating matters, some RNC⁤ members alongside Lara Trump ⁣believe the⁣ committee should extend financial aid to the former president amid⁣ his entanglement with legal challenges totaling 85 felony charges across ⁢Washington, D.C.,⁣ Florida, New York, ‌and Georgia.

The Washington Examiner sought the RNC’s perspective on these developments, hoping to glean ⁢insights⁢ into the internal dynamics at play.

Ultimately, Cardenas’ stern‌ rebuke serves as a wake-up call, imploring ⁣those within the RNC to uphold ‌their oaths to an institution now mirroring the ⁢stirring influence of Donald‌ Trump.
