Aaron Stecker: From NFL Champion to High School Coach
Aaron Stecker, former NFL running back and Super Bowl champion, has found his calling as an assistant varsity coach at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach. Despite the allure of big-time college or pro football coaching gigs, Stecker is content right where he is.

Corona del Mar has a history of having former NFL players on their coaching staff. This year, Stecker joins the ranks of Shea McClellin and Chris Conte, both of whom have served as Sea Kings assistants. The staff also includes former San Jose State quarterback Nick Starkel, adding to the wealth of experience and knowledge available to the players.
Stecker, who had previously coached in his native Wisconsin, didn’t plan on coaching during his son’s high school years. However, he felt a pull to give back to the game that had given him so much. Inspired by his own high school coach, Stecker saw an opportunity to make a difference at the high school level.
As the special-teams coordinator and running backs coach at Corona del Mar, Stecker is able to balance his role as a coach and a father. He cherishes the time spent with his son on and off the field, and he’s grateful for the knowledge and experiences he can share with the young athletes.
