Fox News slams Joe Biden’s actions in Maui as ‘completely inappropriate’.
President Biden Faces Backlash for Insensitive Remarks During Visit to Maui
On Monday, President Joe Biden made a long-awaited visit to the Hawaiian Island of Maui, where a devastating wildfire had recently destroyed the coastal town of Laihana. However, his remarks during the visit left many feeling outraged and disrespected.
In a display of narcissism and faux sympathy, Biden attempted to relate to the suffering people of Laihana by sharing a story about a small kitchen fire he once experienced. This insensitive comparison did not sit well with the hosts on Fox News.
“You’re not gonna believe what kind of obnoxious story the president just told the people of Hawaii,” Jesse Watters announced on his show.
Watters played a clip of Biden’s speech, in which he described the incident with the kitchen fire in great detail. However, Watters quickly corrected the record, stating that Biden had never actually lost his home from a lightning strike, but rather had a small kitchen fire that was contained in less than 20 minutes.
The hosts of “Fox and Friends” also expressed their disbelief and frustration with Biden’s remarks. They played another clip from his speech, in which he mentioned almost losing his wife, his ’67 Corvette, and his cat. The hosts questioned why Biden would continue to tell untrue and inappropriate stories, especially in the face of real tragedy.
According to a report from KITV in Honolulu, the death toll from the Maui wildfire stands at 115, with many still missing. Despite the severity of the situation, questions remain unanswered and locals have seen little help from the government.
While the controversy surrounding Biden’s remarks continues, the Bidens have resumed their Lake Tahoe vacation.
