Fox News Host Questions if the ‘Constitution Has Been Suspended’ in Maui After Official Tries to Enforce ’Media-Free Zone’
Fox News host Will Cain raised concerns about the suspension of the Constitution in Hawaii as he reported on the devastating wildfires that have been raging for the past week.
The death toll from the fires has now reached 99, with more people still missing as the fires continue to burn. The situation is dire, with at least 1,300 people missing and countless others displaced. Residents in affected communities have expressed frustration over a lack of leadership and communication.
One resident, Etan Kawika Krupnick, who lost his home in the fires, pleaded with the country’s leaders to pay attention to the devastated community of Lahaina.
According to Cain, he encountered difficulties in communicating and was told by officials that journalists were not allowed in certain parts of the island. In a tweet, Cain expressed his frustration, questioning how the entire West Side could be considered a “media-free zone” and whether the Constitution had been suspended.
I’m in West Maui. Service is rough. Hard to post. But we’re putting together stories of incredible citizens stepping up where the government has failed. And at Napili Plaza someone from the Mayor Richard Bissen’s office tries to shut me down saying West Maui is a media free zone.…

Cain further expressed his concerns about the chaos and confusion surrounding the situation, stating that residents of Maui want to share their stories with the media and are unhappy with the leadership. He also highlighted the inspiring efforts of citizens who have organized an airlift to bring supplies to the West Side, surpassing the government’s efforts.
Everyone here is confused. Mixed messages. Just like those that led to no sirens during the fire. Is the water good or bad? How do you get in or out of West Maui? Chaos and confusion. I’ll tell you this, citizens are happy we are here. They have stories. And they are unhappy with…

And inspirationally, they have stepped up. I just hung with two 29-year-old girls who’ve organized an airlift to the West Side. It’s stunning. Planes and helicopters landing all day to bring supplies better than the government. I just saw retired firefighters volunteering to…

Meanwhile, Hawaii Governor Josh Green revealed that search and rescue teams, including police officers and firefighters, are tirelessly searching through the fire-ravaged areas of Maui in search of the missing. Green estimated that they could find 10 to 20 bodies per day for the next 10 days.
The situation in Maui is dire, and the efforts of citizens to support each other in the face of government shortcomings are truly inspiring. The question of whether the Constitution has been suspended remains a concern for many.
