Fox News’ Kristin Fisher Leaving For CNN
Fox News White House correspondent Kristin Fisher announced Friday on air that she is leaving the network.
On Friday’s “Special Report” with Bret Baier, Fisher said, “From the jobs report to my own job, this is my last live shot on my last day at Fox News, and I’ve had an incredible run.”
Fisher, who has covered the White House for Fox since 2019, will become a correspondent covering space for CNN, according to multiple reports.
“I started out 6 years ago on the early morning weekend shift. I made it all the way to the White House, which is something that has been at the very top of my career bucket list ever since I was a very little girl. But I’ve just realized that there are a few other things on that list that I would like to try to tick off,” Fisher said Friday on “Special Report.”
“So before I go, I just want to thank Fox for trusting me with this beat and for giving me so many opportunities,” she added. “And Bret, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with you, the entire White House team, and everybody on the ‘Special Report’ team as well.”
“It’s been an unforgettable ride. I’m leaving here with so much gratitude,” Fisher followed up in a tweet.

Fisher is the daughter of two astronauts and physicians, Dr. Anna Fisher and Dr. William Fisher. Her mother was recruited by NASA in 1978 as one of the first six female astronauts in the U.S., and in 1984 became the first mother in space.
“I totally embarrass my younger daughter when I say ‘Well, half of your DNA was in space,’” Dr. Anna Fisher said in 2011 during an interview for a NASA oral history. “She goes, ‘Mom!’ At least when she was younger, she would get embarrassed. She’s probably proud of it now.”
Fisher expressed interest in the Biden administration’s space policy earlier this year when she asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, “Would it be fair to say that space policy is one of the few areas where President Biden actually agrees with his predecessor?”
Fisher joins a trail of Fox News reporters and anchors who have left Fox for CNN, including Alisyn Camerota, Dave Briggs, Conor Powell, and Rick Folbaum.
Her transition comes as CNN continues to struggle with ratings in the post-Trump era. The left-leaning network lost 45% of its primetime audience this year, the biggest loss in viewership of any network recently.
Meanwhile, CNN President Jeff Zucker has publicly bashed Fox News in recent years as “state-run TV” and a “propaganda machine” that does an “incredible disservice to this country.”
“There are a handful of really good journalists there, but I think they are lost in what is a complete propaganda machine, and the idea that it’s a news channel is really not the case at all,” Zucker said in 2018.
