Fox News Reporter Benjamin Hall Details Brush With Death In Ukraine
Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall shared his harrowing experience of surviving an attack in Ukraine while covering the early days of Russia’s invasion of the country. During Fox Nation’s “Sacrifice and Survival: A Story From the Front Line,” Hall revealed the events leading up to the attack, which killed Fox News photojournalist Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova.
According to Hall, he and his team were filming in an abandoned area of Kyiv when they heard shelling in the background. Despite the sound, the team believed they were safe to continue, but within minutes, they were hit by an incoming missile. Hall admits he lost consciousness but heard his daughter’s voice, which he believes prompted him to exit the vehicle, just in time before another missile hit.
The reporter suffered severe injuries, losing a leg, foot, and the use of one of his hands and one eye. Still, he credits his wife and three young daughters for giving him the strength and motivation to move forward. In the meantime, Hall shared his full story in his book, “Saved: A War Reporter’s Mission to Make It Home,” which was released on March 14th, one year after the attack.
While the story has gone viral, Fox Nation highlights only part of Hall’s journey, making his book a more comprehensive account of the journalist’s mission to escape the deadly attack in Ukraine.
