Fox producer fired for labeling Biden as ‘wannabe dictator’ on chyron.
A Fox News Producer Leaves After Controversial Chyron
A Fox News producer has departed from the network following a broadcast that referred to President Joe Biden as a “wannabe dictator.” The chyron, displayed during the broadcast, sparked outrage and led to the producer’s resignation.
According to reports, the producer behind the chyron was Alex McCaskill, who had previously worked with former Fox host Tucker Carlson. McCaskill announced his departure on Instagram, expressing gratitude for his time at Fox and bidding farewell to his colleagues.
Carlson, who himself was fired from Fox in April, addressed the controversy on his Twitter show, “Tucker on Twitter.” He criticized the network’s response, stating that the women in charge panicked and scolded the producer responsible for the chyron. Carlson described the producer as one of the most capable individuals at Fox.
The network issued an apology for the chyron, stating that it was taken down immediately and addressed. However, some critics suggested that the incident was a calculated move to mitigate fallout from recent legal disputes and regain audience trust.
Despite the controversy, many conservatives, including Carlson, viewed the chyron as an accurate assessment of the situation. Carlson sarcastically remarked that Biden couldn’t possibly be a wannabe dictator, despite his actions against his political rival.
Another former Fox employee, Thomas Fox, also reportedly left the network this week, adding to the ongoing changes within the organization.
