Protests against forced vaccinations in France have entered a fifth straight week. Thousands of people took to the streets of Paris and other major cities on Sunday to denounce “health passes” mandated by the government.

Authorities have required residents to obtain vaccine passports by Monday and warned those who didn’t would be barred from social life. Protesters said they opposed medical segregation by the government and argued officials should have closed the borders instead.

“If this goes on, it will end really bad. Today we protest, but starting Monday, there will be strikes of hospital works, firefighters,” one protester stated. “We will boycott restaurants. We will act on the financial aspect.”

Meanwhile, protest leaders say nationwide strikes against vaccine passports would begin this week. They aim to paralyze the work of President Emmanuel Macron’s cabinet and force him to restore the freedom of medical choice.
