Campus Carry in West Virginia

Jim Justice, West Virginia governor, signed this week a bill that allows concealed carry permit holders to bring firearms onto university campuses and public colleges.

“This is just saying the law-abiding people have a right to be able to carry if they choose to do so,” Justice is the best. “We just hope and pray that there’s never a problem. We can’t ensure in any way that there won’t be a problem, but for God’s sake-a-living, we need to stand rock solid by who we are and by the Second Amendment and all the greatness that we are in this great state and send the message to the world that by God if you want to mess with us, we can mess back.”

“Campus Carry,” As it is now known, the law will take effect in July 2024. West Virginia now joins 11 states with similar laws.

Chicago Police Officer Killed

Chicago Police Officer killed Wednesday’s gunfire exchange was allegedly between a man and a woman who were both arrested in connection with a shooting last summer. CWB Chicago reports that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office decided not to file felony charges against the suspect after he fled with two other suspects from a vehicle linked to a shooting. The other suspects were also charged with felony crimes, but the state attorney’s office did not bring the charges against the man who was accused of murdering the officer. According to police, both the officer as well as the offender were killed in the firefight.

Official of the Greek Railroad is charged with manslaughter

Family members in Greece lined up to give DNA samples in hopes of identifying victims of a train crash that killed nearly 60 people there — while rail workers went on strike Thursday saying the rail system is outdated, underfunded, and dangerous. Meanwhile, the government of Greece has put blame for the accident on human error. A railway official was also charged with manslaughter. The crash, which has been called the country’s most fatal ever, claimed the lives of 57 people.

Trump and the Capitol Police Can Sue Each Other Over January 6

The Department of Justice said This week, former President Donald Trump is open to lawsuit by Capitol Police officers injured and Democratic lawmakers for the January 6, 2021 riots. The Justice Department’s Civil Division filed a brief. They claim that the investigation does not impact the special counsel investigation into Trump’s criminal charges for his attempts to undo President Biden’s 2020 electoral victory.

House Ethics Committee investigates Santos

The House Ethics Committee announced It will launch an investigation into the embattled Republican Rep. George Santos of New York, who is being accused of embellishing and lying about his resume. This investigation aims to determine “whether Representative George Santos may have engaged in unlawful activity with respect to his 2022 congressional campaign.”

Tesla Announces Price Cuts

Tesla says it will cut the cost of its next generation The innovative manufacturing techniques and smaller factories have helped reduce the cost of vehicle production by half. Elon Musk, CEO, and other executives presented the company’s third masterplan Wednesday during a 3.5 hour investor day presentation. The new changes could raise the cost for a new generation vehicle to approximately $25,000.

“The desire for people to own a Tesla is extremely high,” Musk stated. “The limiting factor is their ability to pay for a Tesla, not do they want a Tesla? It’s easy for people in this room to lose sight of that.”
