From Tom Cruise To Hugh Grant, There’s No Shortage of Train Wreck Celebrity Interviews
Celebrity interviews are commonplace, but sometimes they don’t go as anticipated. There have been times where interviews have gone haywire, leaving the interviewer and audience flabbergasted. For instance, during an interview preceding the 1995 Academy Awards broadcast, Ashley Graham’s questions left “Love, Actually” actor Hugh Grant visibly irritated. In addition, interviews with Robert Downey Jr., Quentin Tarantino, Drew Barrymore, and Mel Gibson went off the rails. Other interviews have resulted in controversies, such as one conducted with John Cena where the actor referenced Taiwan as a separate country, leading to box office ramifications. One of the most infamous celebrity interviews was with Tom Cruise, as he jumped up and down on Oprah Winfrey’s TV couch while professing his love for Katie Holmes, which brought him endless ridicule. Despite the occasional unraveling of celebrity interviews, actors like Cruise strive to create the best movies possible while being gracious behind the scenes.
