Fugitive’s Whiteboard Message to Police Backfires, Leads to Arrest
When Criminals Think They Can Create Reality with Words
Being a cop is no easy task. People are constantly lying, even those who appear innocent. Dealing with liars is just part of the job for police officers.
But what happens when criminals are infected by a leftist mental disorder that distorts their perception of reality? Well, you get some really dumb criminals who make the cop’s job a little easier.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recently shared a news release that described one of those moments where a criminal, thinking he could manipulate reality with words, essentially turned himself in.
“One of the worst things about being a cop is you always have to be open to the possibility that people are going to lie to you. No matter how sweet and innocent they seem.”
This time, the liar wasn’t sweet or innocent at all.
The deputies were on the hunt for Johnny Yates, a wanted criminal, when they arrived at a residence in Lakeland. To their surprise, they were greeted by a dry-erase whiteboard in the window with the words, “Johnny Yates does NOT live here!!” written on it.
Gee…a dry-erase board never lied to us before — should we believe it?
Clearly, Yates believed that the sheriffs would fall for his feeble attempt at deception. But he was sorely mistaken.
Thanks to a tip from someone leaving the house, the deputies discovered that Yates was indeed inside. After using a loudspeaker to evacuate the remaining occupants, they decided to smoke Yates out. The “surrender smoke” forced several people outside, some of whom were arrested. However, Yates managed to evade capture.
It wasn’t until the sheriff deputies brought in a K9 unit that Yates was finally found hiding in a modified chest of drawers. Case closed.
So, was Yates just incredibly stupid, or had he been influenced by the establishment media’s ability to manipulate truth? Perhaps he thought, “If they can make millions believe their lies, why can’t I?”
Or maybe Yates had been taught that truth is subjective, and therefore, he could create his own reality. Regardless, Yates, whether naturally unintelligent or conditioned by leftist society, found himself reveling in his own stupidity.
As Forrest Gump once said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Why is it important for law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant and rely on their training and experience in navigating through the lies and manipulation attempted by criminals who think they can create their own reality
K-9 unit that they were able to locate Yates hiding in an attic crawl space. It turns out, Yates had tried to manipulate reality with his words, thinking that the sheriff deputies would believe his declaration that he was not present in the residence.
This incident highlights a disturbing trend where criminals believe they can create a new reality simply by uttering words. It is a manifestation of a leftist mental disorder that distorts their perception of reality. They become deluded into thinking that they can deceive authorities and manipulate the truth.
But the fact remains that words alone cannot change reality. No matter how convincing or persuasive a criminal may be, the truth will always prevail. Law enforcement officers are trained to be vigilant and to question everything. They understand that people will lie to them, no matter how innocent or trustworthy they may appear.
Fortunately, the sheriffs in this case were not swayed by Yates’ feeble attempt at deception. They relied on their instincts, the tips they received, and their training to uncover the truth. Their commitment to upholding the law and protecting the community led them to Yates’ capture.
It is important for society to recognize the dangers of criminals who believe they can create their own reality. Such individuals pose a risk to public safety and undermine the rule of law. They are willing to manipulate the truth, deceive law enforcement, and potentially cause harm to innocent people.
Law enforcement agencies must continue to be vigilant in their fight against crime and deception. They must rely on their training and experience to navigate through the lies and manipulation attempted by criminals. By doing so, they can ensure that justice is served and that the truth prevails.
In conclusion, criminals who think they can create reality with words are deluded and misguided. Words may have power, but they cannot change the facts. Law enforcement officers must remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice, relying on their training and instincts to overcome the deception attempted by criminals. Society must also recognize the dangers these individuals pose and support law enforcement agencies in their efforts to maintain public safety and uphold the rule of law. Only by doing so can we ensure a safe and just society for all.
