Fulton County sheriff warns of Trump’s potential mug shot if indicted in Georgia.
Former President Donald Trump’s Potential Mug Shot
It seems that former President Donald Trump may soon find himself posing for his first mug shot if he is indicted in the Peach State. Fulton County, Georgia, Sheriff Pat Labat made this revelation during a press conference on Tuesday, stating that if Trump is indicted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, as widely anticipated in the coming weeks, he will be subjected to “normal practices.”
“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status. We’ll have a mug shot ready for you,” Labat said.
Labat further emphasized that they would adhere to their usual procedures, with the mug shot being accessible through regular ”records requests.”
“Again, we’ll follow our normal practices, and those that take [a] mug shot will be [subject] to open records requests, like everyone else,” Labat said.
Labat also highlighted the preparedness of law enforcement in Fulton County, particularly in Atlanta, to maintain order in the event of the former president’s indictment.
“If an indictment came today, we would be ready,” Labat said.
It is expected that Trump will face charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. He has already been indicted three times in 2023, including a recent federal grand jury indictment in Washington, D.C.
Willis is reportedly aiming to press charges against Trump between July 31 and Aug. 18, as recommended by the grand jury.
