Gas prices ​continued to be a significant topic as relief at the pumps​ continued over the ⁤weekend. The average price for a gallon ​of regular gas on⁣ Sunday was $3.501, slightly lower than Saturday’s price. California had the highest average price at ⁣$4.684, while Mississippi had the lowest‌ at ⁢$2.992. Gas prices vary⁢ among states, ‍with Washington,​ D.C. at $3.706, Virginia at $3.421, and⁣ Maryland at $3.498 per gallon of regular gas. gas prices are higher compared ​to last year but have ⁤slightly decreased over the weekend.


Gas prices: Relief at the pumps continued over the weekend

Gas prices remain a vital topic heading into the 2024 presidential election.

With President Joe Biden deciding not to seek reelection, the new Democratic nominee will have to address the country’s high gas prices. While there has been a decrease at the pumps in recent weeks and months, today’s gas prices remain significantly higher than when former President Donald Trump was in office.

Despite the high prices, the cost of gas did slightly decrease over the weekend, as the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.501 on Sunday, according to AAA. This was a slight drop from Saturday’s price of $3.504 per gallon. The average gas price was also less expensive on Sunday than last week when it cost $3.522 for a gallon of regular gas. It was, however, more costly than a month ago, when a gallon of regular gas cost $3.456.

On Sunday, California had the highest average price for a gallon of regular gas, at $4.684. This was ever so slightly higher than Hawaii, where the average price was $4.681. Mississippi remained the state with the lowest average price for a gallon of regular gas, at $2.992.

On Sunday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Washington, D.C., was $3.706. That was a slight increase from the day before in the nation’s capital, when gas was $3.70. A week ago, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.705 per gallon. A month ago, people in Washington, D.C. paid $3.656 per gallon.

Virginia

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia on Sunday was $3.421. This was a decrease from Saturday’s average price of $3.429 per gallon. Also, prices are less expensive now than a week ago, when regular-grade gas was $3.469 per gallon. A month ago in Virginia, a gallon of regular was $3.33. Last year, it was $3.418.

Maryland

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Maryland on Sunday was $3.498. It was a decrease from the day before when regular gas was $3.511 per gallon. A week ago, the price for regular gas was $3.584 per gallon. A month ago, people in Maryland paid $3.53 for a gallon of regular gas. However, prices in Maryland are less expensive than this time last year, when a gallon of regular gas cost Marylanders $3.576.

Delaware

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Delaware on Sunday was $3.417, a decrease from Saturday’s price of $3.436. New York

Gas prices in New York were more than the national average, with an average price of $3.62 for a gallon of regular gas. This was a very small decrease compared to Saturday when gas was $3.621 per gallon. A week ago, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.628. A month ago, it cost $3.584 for a gallon of regular.
