Gas prices: Costs slowly creep up at the pumps across the country

Gas prices are on the rise again throughout the country.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas increased to $3.519 on Tuesday, according to AAA. This was a slight increase from the last two days when the average cost for a gallon of regular gas was $3.506 per gallon. Tuesday’s price was higher than a week ago when it cost $3.501 for a gallon of regular gas, and a month ago when it cost $3.449 per gallon.

Mississippi was the state that had the cheapest gas prices for a gallon of regular gas on Tuesday, with a cost of $2.997. Meanwhile, California had the country’s most expensive gas on Tuesday, with a gallon of regular gas costing $4.79.

Washington, D.C.

In the nation’s capital, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.709 on Tuesday. This was a decrease from Monday’s price of $3.72 per gallon. On Sunday, the price was $3.716 per gallon. A week ago, regular gas was $3.671 per gallon in Washington, D.C., and a month ago, it was $3.677.

Virginia

On Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia was $3.441. This was an increase from Monday’s average price of $3.393 per gallon. A week ago, regular-grade gas was $3.356 per gallon in Virginia. A month ago, it was $3.349, and last year at this time, a gallon of regular gas was $3.347.

Maryland

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Maryland on Tuesday was $3.59. This was a slight increase from Monday’s price of $3.578. A week ago, the price for regular gas was $3.57 per gallon. A month ago, people in Maryland were paying $3.535 for a gallon of regular gas. Last year at this time, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.572.
