George Santos Resume Scandal Brings New Attention to Biden’s Lies
The controversy surrounding Rep.-elect George Santos’, R-N.Y., lies about his résumé on the campaign trail has brought renewed attention to President Biden’s long history of fabrications, including embellishments about his college career that helped derail his 1988 presidential campaign.
Robert Zimmerman was defeated by Santos in November’s general election. Santos falsely claimed that he had graduated from Baruch College, worked at Citibank and Goldman Sachs. After an investigation by the New York Times revealed major portions of his biography were fabricated, Santos’ purported employers confirmed to Fox News Baruch College claimed that he has never worked for them.
In an interview with the New York Post on Monday, Santos confessed that he had lied to them.
“I am not a criminal,” He said. “I’m embarrassed, and sorry for having embellished my résumé.”
