DeSantis recruits new campaign manager for presidential bid.
DeSantis Hires Top Adviser to Lead Campaign as GOP Debate Approaches
Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has made a strategic move to strengthen his campaign as the primary season heats up. With the first GOP debate just a few weeks away, DeSantis has brought in his top adviser to take charge.
“People have written Governor DeSantis’s obituary many times,” said James Uthmeier, DeSantis’s new campaign manager. “He’s breaking records on fundraising and has a supporting super PAC with $100 million in the bank and an incredible ground game. Get ready.”
Uthmeier, who previously served as the chief of staff for the Florida governor, is known for being one of DeSantis’s most trusted and conservative advisers. According to The Messenger, Generra Peck, the former campaign manager, will remain on the team as the chief strategist.
Joining Uthmeier is David Polyansky, an experienced Iowa operative who has never lost a Republican presidential primary in the first-in-the-nation caucus state. Polyansky will serve as the new deputy campaign manager.
DeSantis’s Strong Position in the Race
Despite the race remaining largely unchanged in recent months, with former President Donald Trump leading the pack, DeSantis has consistently held the second-place position. Polling in the high-teens or low-twenties, DeSantis has maintained a strong standing while the remaining candidates trail behind in the single digits.
To further strengthen his campaign, DeSantis took a week off from his duties as governor to assess his presidential campaign, identify necessary changes, and implement them. It was during this time that he made the decision to bring Uthmeier on board.
Uthmeier’s Impact and Reputation
Uthmeier’s appointment has received praise from various sources within DeSantis’s operation. Known for his work ethic, intelligence, political instincts, and ability to drive progress and achieve victories, Uthmeier is seen as the right person to lead the campaign.
“He managed the governor’s policy agenda with precision, and I have no doubt he will do the same by helping Ron DeSantis evict Joe Biden from the White House and reverse America’s decline,” said a source close to the governor’s operation.
Having played college sports at the University of Florida and earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Uthmeier brings a diverse background to the table. He has previously served as a law clerk in the U.S. Senate and as a senior advisor and counsel in the Trump administration.
With Uthmeier at the helm, DeSantis’s campaign is poised to make significant strides and solidify its position in the race. The addition of Uthmeier and Polyansky demonstrates DeSantis’s commitment to securing victory and bringing about the change he envisions for America.
