Gina Carano Calls Out the Hollywood Reporter’s Richard Newby as a Journalist “Who Sold Out America,” Exposes His Utter Ignorance
Terror on the Prairie Former actress Mandalorian star Gina Carano recently ripped into The Hollywood Reporter’s Richard Newby calling him a sell out journalist and claiming that he “sold out America.”
Carano’s comments came after Newby asserted that he would “never stop laughing at the fact that [Carano] could’ve had her own Star Wars series, toys, books, comics, apparel.”
He continued, “She was that close. She didn’t just fumble the bag, she dumped it out, put it over her head and cut off her air supply.”
Newby’s comments were in response to a user claiming that Carano’s Terror on the Prairie The film earned $804 at box office after only one showing. It was released exclusively on Daily Wire+.

Newby wouldn’t be aware that he was working for The Hollywood Reporter despite being a reporter. Terror on the Prairie Released exclusively on Daily Wire+ at the time.
In response to a user claiming that none of Carano’s supporters bought a ticket to see the film, Newby replied, “Because they’re not really supporters lol.”
Carano responded to Newby’s comments writing, “Here is a contributor of The Hollywood Reporter who repeatedly joins in an online mob of mostly anonymous accounts harassing me.”
She then informed him about Terror on the Prairie’s exclusive release on Daily Wire+, “Are you aware that we released Terror on the Prairie exclusively on the Daily Wire & you didn’t know that? Or are ignorance & spreading hate your only purpose here?”
Carano then addressed Newby’s claims that she fumbled the bag. She wrote: “I didn’t fumble the bag I just didn’t go along with the sell out narrative, the online mob couldn’t handle that so they petitioned to have me fired & won.”
“I’m not sorry for that. I stood for what I believe the right thing to do was & the more time that goes by the better I feel,” Carano declared.
Newby was then referred to by her as a journalist who sells out America and a journalist who is a sellout.
Carano tweeted, “The genuine bag fumble is sell out journalists like you who sold out America and stopped asking questions to be liked by a fickle manipulated mob.”
“That is what you valued and that will be your legacy,” Carano proclaimed.
After firing back at Newby, she informed her followers that Newby had blocked her.
Newby’s claim about Carano fumbling the bag is utterly ridiculous. For those who don’t remember or have bought the false narrative peddled by individuals like Richard Newby, Carano was fired by Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company for posting a meme warning about the dangers of hating your neighbor.
Carano uploaded a screenshot from warriorpriestygym podcast onto her Instagram Stories. It said, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.”
The quote read, “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
This image was accompanied by the words: A pair of children in undress, wielding blunt weapons, chase down a woman.
Following this post, an anonymous Disney spokesman announced Carano’s firing and accused her of denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities.
According to the spokesman, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”
“Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” The spokesman said that they added.
There’s nothing wrong with this meme and the Auschwitz Memorial even posted a similar sentiment back in 2018.
They tweeted “When we look at Auschwitz we see the end of the process. It’s important to remember that the Holocaust actually did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanisation & escalating violence.”
It is not about throwing a bag at your neighbor and telling them to stop. It’s not about putting a bag on your head and cutting off your air supply.
Jesus Christ, the Godman, has made loving your neighbor the second most important commandment. Matthew 22.34-40 states, “When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them [a scholar of the law] tested him by asking, ‘Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
2009 also saw the issuance by Pope Benedict XVI Caritas In Veritate, an encyclicalHe explained the matter in this article. “To love someone is to desire that person’s good and to take effective steps to secure it. Besides the good of the individual, there is a good that is linked to living in society: the common good.”
“It is the good of ‘all of us’, made up of individuals, families and intermediate groups who together constitute society. It is a good that is sought not for its own sake, but for the people who belong to the social community and who can only really and effectively pursue their good within it. To desire the common good and strive towards it is a requirement of justice and charity. To take a stand for the common good is on the one hand to be solicitous for, and on the other hand to avail oneself of, that complex of institutions that give structure to the life of society, juridically, civilly, politically and culturally, making it the pólis, or “city”. The more we strive to secure a common good corresponding to the real needs of our neighbours, the more effectively we love them,” the Pope detailed.
Not to be fumbling your bag, warn about hateful people and the terrible consequences it can cause. It’s far from it.
However, Newby appears to engage in hating people as he’s consistently targeted individuals like Carano that he appears to disagree with politically. Newby claimed that Evangeline Lily was removing herself from the MCU along with Letitia Wright at the start of last year after she protested against Covid-19 vaccination mandates.
Newby tweeted “Evangeline Lily about to spin-off herself right out of the MCU alongside Letita.”
When questioned by a user, Newby claimed Lilly should be silenced because she wasn’t a scientist, “Evangline Lilly isn’t a scientist last time I checked. It’s not a matter of opinion. It’s a matter of public health What is so hard about this?”
Newby also pushed Amazon Studios’ narrative that supporters of J.R.R. Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings are racists because they wanted an accurate adaptation of Tolkien’s Second Age rather than the abomination that Prime Video put forth.
Newby’s accusations were actually The Hollywood Reporter published an article Titled “A Racist Backlash to ‘Rings of Power’ Puts Tolkien’s Legacy Into Focus.”
Newby stated, “The only reason folks have to complain about the casting choices is purely a result of bigotry, despite attempts to cover their own asses with claims of ‘bad acting’ and ‘not enough experience.’”
“What the discourse over Rings of Power has made clear is we’re living with the rationalization of racism,” He concluded. “People who constantly consume corporate media to give their little smooth brains some character, while boasting profile pictures from popular IP, are now crying that fans of Rings of Power are supporting the ‘evil’ ethics of Amazon and Jeff Bezos.”
Newby continued: “So-called Tolkien purists are using Jackson’s films as armor to support all-white casting, despite the fact that Jackson and co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens made many significant changes to Tolkien’s novels when adapting them to film, including playing with the timeline and adding new characters, just like Rings of Power.”
What do you make of Carano’s response to Newby and her assertion that he’s sold out America?
