The Global Imams Council Condemns Extremist Rhetoric at Pro-Palestine Rallies

The Global Imams Council (GIC), consisting of over 1,470 Muslim faith leaders⁣ and scholars from various Islamic denominations, ‌has​ strongly denounced ⁣the “extremist and violent”⁢ rhetoric witnessed at rallies⁢ in Europe, Canada, the United States, and Australia.

In response to the recent pro-Palestine ⁣protests, the GIC expressed concern ⁤over the display of⁤ certain flags and the use of⁤ verbal chants.

According ⁢to the ⁢GIC, these rallies have⁣ witnessed the raising of flags belonging to designated terrorist organizations and the chanting ‍of genocidal slogans against the Jewish⁢ people. The council has ​strongly condemned these actions and has‌ pledged to support Jewish communities in the face of Hamas and ⁢its allies.

The GIC ‍also denounced the Hamas attacks on Jewish, Christian, and Muslim civilians ‌in‍ Israel.

Hamas, an Islamic extremist organization, ‍has been designated as‍ a ‌terrorist group by numerous countries, including Australia, the United ⁣States,⁣ the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union.

Melbourne Pro-Palestine Rally

Meanwhile, during a pro-Palestine rally in⁢ Melbourne, an attendee was seen carrying a‌ portrait of a terrorist organization.

The​ rally ​in Melbourne attracted over 1,000 participants and involved a march through the city streets.

The Victorian Liberal party criticized the rally as “completely inappropriate” prior to its⁤ occurrence.

Shadow Home Affairs Minister⁣ James Paterson brought attention to the incident⁢ on X⁣ (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

The protester​ was observed⁢ carrying a framed ‍photo of ⁢Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah,⁣ a‍ designated terrorist organization.

“It ⁤is disturbing to witness ⁤the ⁢display of⁣ a ‌portrait of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the listed terrorist organization‍ Hezbollah, at the⁢ Melbourne Pro-Palestine rally‌ last night,” stated Mr. ‍Paterson.

“Supporting a proscribed terrorist organization is illegal under⁢ the Commonwealth ⁢Criminal Code and must be thoroughly investigated.”

Global Attention for Sydney Rally

A pro-Palestine rally held at the Sydney Opera House on Monday ⁢night has garnered ‍international ⁢attention.

Footage⁣ captured hundreds of individuals supporting Hamas ⁢chanting, burning, ‌and stomping on the Israeli flag at the Opera House.

The group was recorded⁢ repeatedly chanting “Gas the Jews” during the protest, which deeply disturbed⁢ political leaders ⁤from‍ both the centre-right Liberal ⁣and‌ centre-left Labor parties.
“I was personally horrified by the protest, and I‍ believe it was an ​inappropriate response given ‍the indiscriminate killing of people ​in Israel over the past 48 hours,” expressed New South Wales (NSW) Premier‌ Chris Minns.

Despite warnings from the ‌NSW Police, the pro-Palestine group plans‍ to hold another protest‌ in Sydney ⁢on Sunday.

“At this point, I strongly advise‌ against attending the proposed assembly on Sunday, as it lacks the legal protections provided by the⁢ appropriate issuance of a‌ form⁣ one,” ‍stated NSW Police acting ⁤commissioner David Hudson on Wednesday.

‍ How does the GIC emphasize the importance of⁣ responsible advocacy‍ in promoting the Palestinian cause?

“Anti-Semitism has no ‌place in any society and goes against the principles of⁢ Islam,” ⁣the ⁣GIC‌ stated​ in its press release.
