As ChatGPT Continue reading Take the world by storm, Google has stated that it is currently rolling out a competitor, Bard.

Bard, the tech giant, has said that it will use all information available to it. “provide fresh, high-quality responses” To any question you can think of.

“We’ve been working on an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), that we’re calling Bard,” Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, wrote on Monday blog post. “Today, we’re taking another step forward by opening it up to trusted testers ahead of making it more widely available to the public in the coming weeks.”

“Bard,” Pichai continued, “seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models. It draws on information from the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses.”

Pichai continued to explain that Bard’s first release would use Google’s lightweight MaMDA version. “requires significantly less computing power,” This will make it easier to scale the product to a larger user base.

Google will use the trial stage to gather valuable data from both internal and external users. “to make sure Bard’s responses meet a high bar for quality, safety and groundedness in real-world information.”

ChatGPT was first popularized in 2005. There was speculation that ChatGPT could eventually replace Google search as the primary source of information online. Numerous bugs, including one that could be biased towards the political side, have been found since then.

Its ability write papers, poetry, and even news articles has come under fire. New York University even went so far as to ban students using it due to fears of plagiarism.

ChatGPT is still very popular. OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, now offers a $20 per monthly service which allows users to get faster responses during peak hours.
