Conservative lawmakers launched a series of legislative proposals against China to challenge Biden’s soft stance on the communist regime. On Tuesday, Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) said he led the effort with the Republican Study Committee. He noted “we must continue President Trump’s approach to confronting China.”

The legislative campaign included policy rollouts and informative messaging to tame China’s aggression and to expose Joe Biden’s leniency. Banks said Biden lifted “almost every single tough action” imposed under the Trump administration and he seeks to reverse that.

“If we identify and recognize that China is the greatest existential threat that America faces economically and militarily, then Congress needs to react to that in a bigger way than what we have,” Banks said. “RSC has put forth a number of proposals in this area and I expect that over the next couple of years we will continue to make this a primary focus.”

The effort will continue throughout the week and the RSC said it plans to launch similar endeavors on other major issues going forward.
