GOP group targets Trump in six-figure ad campaign over Georgia indictment.

An Anti-Trump Republican Group Launches Ad Campaign Targeting⁤ Former‌ President

An anti-Trump Republican group is making a bold move by launching a six-figure ad campaign against the former president. Their focus? The‍ criminal charges he ‍faces in Georgia for his attempts‌ to overturn the results‍ of the 2020 election.

The Republican Accountability Project is set to‍ air⁢ 60-second commercials on Fox News in ⁢Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Atlanta starting⁢ Monday. But‍ that’s not all. They’re ⁣also planning to⁤ display a virtual billboard in ⁢Times Square featuring Trump’s mug shot, accompanied by a running‌ list of all 91 criminal charges he currently faces.

Donald Trump Turns Attention Back to Jack ‌Smith Over Slowing⁢ Down Trial

“Donald Trump has spent the last seven years acting like ⁤the ⁣rule of⁣ law doesn’t apply ⁢to him,” says Gunner Ramer, political director of the Republican Accountability Project.‌ “We’re here to remind the American ‌people that no one, not⁢ even a ⁤former president, is above the law.”

The TV ad itself is ⁤hard-hitting, featuring‌ clips of some of Trump’s most controversial moments in office. From the infamous Bible-holding incident in front of St. John’s Church during the racial justice protests to photos of ‍classified documents found in his Mar-a-Lago home, the ad ‌leaves no stone unturned.

“When ‍Donald⁤ Trump ‌was president, he thought it didn’t matter how many laws and norms he broke… Many of us even started saying ‘nothing matters,'” a voice-over in the ad states. “But in America, the rule of law ⁣still matters. And that’s why Donald Trump ⁤has been charged with 91 felonies in four separate cases… This is America, ‍and ⁤no one is above the law.”

The ad campaign specifically focuses on the criminal charges Trump faces in Georgia. A grand jury recently‌ indicted ⁣him on racketeering charges related to⁢ the 2020 election. The indictment stems ‌from a lengthy⁤ investigation into Trump’s efforts to reverse his loss to President Joe Biden in Georgia, a crucial swing state.

The investigation ⁤honed in on five specific actions taken by Trump and his allies in the aftermath of the 2020 election. ‍This includes⁣ phone calls made to Georgia officials in an attempt to⁢ overturn the election results. The indictment⁣ also highlights‌ instances of pressuring ⁤local ‍election officials, making baseless claims of voter fraud, and even ⁣concocting a plan to recruit fake electors to certify a victory for Trump.

Alongside ‌Trump, eighteen other⁣ individuals, including⁤ Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and John Eastman, were indicted ‍on⁢ similar charges.

Trump has pleaded ⁢not guilty to all charges and has accused Democrats of using the indictments as a means to interfere in the upcoming 2024 election, where he is currently ⁣the front-runner for the GOP nomination. Many Republicans have rallied behind him, accusing Biden of weaponizing‌ the federal government to weaken his strongest political opponent.
