GOP’s ‘weakest candidate’ for 2024 is Donald Trump, Club for Growth leader says

EXCLUSIVE — Club for Growth PDavid McIntosh, a resident of the area said that his group would support the 2024 GOP nominee The 45th president is the worst candidate for the party, no matter how hard you try.

“I believe that our weakest candidate to win the White House election is Donald Trump,” said McIntosh. “And that’s because we lost in ’18, lost in ’20, and lost in ’22.”

Trump notably snubbed From a Club for Growth retreat, held on the same weekend that the Conservative Political Action Conference. He was the keynote speaker.

Nearly every current and rumored GOP presidential candidate was present at the Palm Beach event, Florida. Nikki Haley Vivek Ramaswamy, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R–FL), ex-Vice President Mike Pence; Sen. Tim Scott (R–SC); and Gov. Chris Sununu (R–NH).

McIntosh stated that his group may not endorse any candidate in the Republican primaries, but that if they did, it would reap a huge financial return.

If a Trump rival wins its support, the club will spend more than $150 million.

Trump is known to have fought with the group which supports limited government principles. Trump was annoyed by the promotion of “limited government” during midterm elections. internal polling DeSantis was clearly showing that he is behind him before the November campaign launch.

Trump attacked the group which he called “The gang”.Club For NO GrowthMcIntosh explained that McIntosh’s group was looking at the Donald for a reason.

“We did a national poll in January; Biden would beat Trump by about 3 points,” He said. “But DeSantis would beat Biden, also by about 3. So there was a 6-point swing, and that confirmed our thesis that we better look for somebody else.”
