Gov. Abbott: Impeach Mayrorkas
Today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott was inaugurated for his third term. One of Abbott’s top issues is border security. He’s been dealing with the Biden border crisis since it began two years ago and times are not getting better for border states. Abbott suggested that DHS Secretary Mayorkas be impeached.
Rep. Pat Fallon, R-TX, is now part of a new Republican majority in Congress. vowed to file articles of impeachment against Mayorkas. Fallon followed through This promise. These are the names of Fallon’s two articles impeachment. “high crimes and misdemeanors,” House Resolution 8. Governor Abbott is focusing his attention on the fact Mayorkas lied about Congress when he testified. the border is not open (!) Mayorkas has not enforced immigration laws. Mayorkas has demonstrated incompetence in his job.
“The facts are that Secretary Mayorkas has repeatedly told the public that the border is secure and that the border is not open,” Abbott spoke in an exclusive interview to Fox News Digital before his Tuesday inauguration for a third term of four-years as leader of the Lone Star State.
“He testified under oath to those two statements in front of the United States Congress, and despite what he is saying, the reality is under Secretary Mayorkas we have the largest number of people coming across the border illegally than ever in the history of the United States of America,” The governor stated.
Abbott also argued for Mayorkas “should be prosecuted for impeachment for lying to Congress and lying to Americans or because he’s incompetent at doing his job.”
It’s clear that Mayorkas does not intend to enforce current immigration laws because he has not done so since he began leading DHS. Mayorkas doesn’t visit the border regularly to assess the situation. In interviews and Congressional hearings, he insists that the southern frontier is secure and not porous.
What would the impeachment procedure change? Most likely not. This is the most troubling aspect of the national security and humanitarian crisis. A move to impeach Mayorkas will not succeed in the face of a Democrat-controlled Senate. The only way to oust Mayorkas will be for Biden to fire him and we know that’s not likely. Mayorkas is doing exactly what Biden wants him to do – ignore current laws and rely on catch and release at the border.
Governor Abbott and the Biden government are inseparable. As governor, Abbott has done everything possible to secure the border. He also provided the necessary resources for Border Patrol agents. Over the years, the Texas taxpayers have paid the bill for the resources in the amount of billions of dollars. Yet, because of Biden’s negligence and refusal to implement policies and agreements that have a proven track record of working, the crisis is worse, not better, after two years of the Biden administration.
CBP sources say that last month’s total number of southern border apprehensions was over 250,000. This is an unprecedented number, compared to any other month in the past.
We never imagined Biden would be so bad.
We thought he would be a disaster, but nowhere near the epic tsunami of record-setting death, misery and destruction he’s turned out to be.

House Republicans have committed to holding a hearing on the location of the open border. That one might be carried by C-SPAN, I wonder. It should.
The Democrats and Joe Biden know that illegal immigration is a major issue in the 2024 presidential elections. Biden took his first trip – ever – to the Texas border and received a sanitized version of the crisis in El Paso. A trip to the Rio Grande Valley will give you a true look at the Biden border crisis. Abbott and other Texas Republicans have invited Biden to tour the border. He has refused. When he visited El Paso, there were no Republicans present. Even Rep. Tony Gonzales from the district. Biden knows what political consequences await him.
Today, Abbott will swear in his third term. He will continue to do all he can. to secure the borderIt is, however, a federal responsibility.
The governor told Fox News that in his inaugural address, he’ll “point out that the reason why Texas is coming out of pocket $4 billion to secure the border is because Joe Biden is missing in action as it concerns border security. I will outline all of the strategies that we have deployed, which are unprecedented to secure the border, and tell the public that we will once again be funding border security for the next two years.”
Biden’s plan to open the border and allow a flood of illegal immigrants to cross into the country is working. They’re coming, and many of them feel entitled to do so. Joe, we are grateful. As long as the border to the south is open, the United States of America is not considered a sovereign nation.
