Noem: Only Trump Sees Victory in 2024.

Republican Governor Noem: Trump Holds Best Chance for 2024 Presidential Victory

Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has made a bold statement regarding the 2024 presidential race. In a recent radio interview, Noem expressed her belief that former President Donald Trump is the frontrunner with the clearest path to the White House.

Noem, while refraining from endorsing any specific Republican candidate, emphasized that Trump’s presence in the race significantly diminishes the chances of victory for other contenders. “President Trump is in the race, and right now I don’t see a path to victory for anybody else with him in the race and the situation as it sits today,” Noem stated.

Trump’s dominance in the Republican field is evident in various primary polls. According to RealClearPolitics, Trump leads the next closest candidate, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, by over 30 points on average.

Although DeSantis has occasionally surpassed Trump in select polls, the RCP polling average consistently shows Trump in the lead, with his advantage growing since March.

Noem, however, cautioned that the race is still subject to change, considering the primaries are far in the future. The first Republican debate is scheduled for August 23, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while the initial primary contest could take place on February 24, 2024, in South Carolina.

“I think people should saddle up—it could be a roller coaster of a presidential race,” Noem advised.

Trump’s Expanding Lead in the Polls

Throughout March, Trump maintained a lead of approximately 15 points over DeSantis in the RCP polling average. However, his advantage began to grow in April, coinciding with the announcement of criminal charges against Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump’s polling lead surged in Yahoo! News-YouGov and Reuters/Ipsos polls conducted around the time of Bragg’s indictment. Additionally, the Trump campaign reported a significant increase in donations, receiving $8 million in the four days following the charges.

The former president once again celebrated a boost in his poll numbers and fundraising after facing federal charges brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Trump expressed his disbelief and called the indictment a “joke,” highlighting his increased popularity among supporters.

During a June 10 rally, Trump referenced leading positions in the Morning Consult and Clarity Campaign GOP polls, where he outpaced DeSantis by wide margins.

Trump’s influence in the race remains strong, and only time will tell how the dynamics of the presidential campaign unfold.
