Graham Disavows Schumer’s’s Majority Consent to Periodically Replace Feinstein on the Judiciary Committee
Sen. Lindsey Graham( R-S. C. ) obstructed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s’s attempt to appoint Senator Dianne Feinstein( D-California ) to the Senate Judiciary Committee for the time being.
On April 18, Schumer attempted to pass a resolution that would have elevated Sen. Ben Cardin( D-Md. ) on the commission while Feinstein waits for her long absence from work due to tiles. Graham objected to the travel because it would force 11 Republicans to add the remaining 50 Democrats. The Democrats, 51-49, control the Senate without Feinstein.
Before requesting majority approval, Schumer said,” Some have left their mark on this place like our dear friend, Sen. Dianne Feinstein.”
Graham objected to Schumer’s’s request, saying that while he wishes Feinstein a” rapid recovery and return back to the Senate ,” his objections focused on the” a handful of judges that you didn’t receive the votes for.”
Committee projects, which are typically finalized through quality, typically receive unanimous approval by the Senate with very little fuss.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell( R-Ky. ) stated on the Senate floor that the” stated reason, the alleged emergency ,” is that Senate Democrats are unable to pass the small percentage of their nominees who are so extreme and unqualified that they cannot win a single Republican vote.
McConnell continued,” Senate Republicans won’t participate in removing a partially absent colleague from the committee really so Democrats can push through their very worst nominee.”
Many Republicans joined McConnell in the room.
” I did oppose any attack by Senate Democrats to supplant Sen. Feinstein on the Judiciary Committee for a brief period of time.” I have the utmost respect for Senator Feinstein, but this is a demand that has never been made with the intention of appeasing extreme, activist judges. Th.
