Sununu predicts over 50% chance Biden won’t run in 2024.

Gov. Chris Sununu: ⁣Biden’s Future on the⁣ Democratic Ticket in⁤ Doubt

Gov. Chris Sununu⁢ (R-NH) believes there’s a⁢ greater than 50% possibility that President Joe ⁢Biden isn’t on the Democratic ticket for president in⁢ 2024.

In⁢ an appearance on Fox News, Sununu gave his outlook on the 2024 election. ‍While most are focused on the Republican nominee ⁣and ‍take Biden’s place in the general election as⁢ a given, the New Hampshire Republican suggested that ⁤the⁤ Democratic ticket isn’t certain either. He said it’s more likely than not that Biden ends up not ⁤being‌ the⁤ Democrats’ nominee, despite much of the party pledging for ‌him.

“Oh, absolutely,” Sununu answered when asked if he believed⁤ that Biden may not be the Democratic ⁣nominee ⁣in 2024. “Look, I’m ⁣not saying it’s definitely ⁤going to⁢ happen, but I think there’s a greater than 50% chance ‌he’s not on the ballot come ⁣November 24.”

He then⁤ laid out two possible ‌futures; one where Biden ⁢voluntarily⁣ steps down before the nomination, ⁤citing health reasons, and uses‌ his delegates to appoint someone else; ⁤and another ‍where a prominent, self-funded Democrat⁤ comes forward soon and ⁢defeats him. He ruled out‍ any‌ governors stepping ⁤forward unless selected by Biden himself.

“I don’t think any of ⁤the Democratic⁣ governors are ⁤going to stand up ‌and ⁢do it this fall,” Sununu said. “They’re probably⁤ just hoping⁢ to be coronated by ⁣Joe Biden, next summer, but ⁤I’m predicting probably ⁤at⁢ least one, if not two.”

He declined⁢ to‍ give any possible‍ names when asked.

The⁣ New Hampshire governor‌ also said that he was undecided on which Republican he would ‍pitch in for, saying that ⁢he’s giving them all a chance first,‍ but that ⁤they would have to earn his vote.

“They’ve got ⁣to earn my vote as⁢ well as‌ anybody else in New Hampshire,” he said. ”So I’m‌ helping; I was at events for Nikki Haley. I’m gonna do ⁣an event with ⁤Chris Christie. I’m gonna go see Vivek Ramaswamy. I’m helping them all. I’m gonna do‍ a bunch of events with Will‍ Hurd … so I’m helping them all as much as I can ⁣… to ⁢see who⁣ rises to the top.”

However, Sununu did predict⁤ that former President Donald Trump, the ‌clear front-runner for the GOP nomination, will run into trouble ⁢and possibly lose the nomination.

“When it becomes⁣ a one-on-one ‍race⁢ shortly after New Hampshire, Trump’s ⁤in trouble,” Sununu predicted. “It’s not … ‍the polls that Trump has. It’s the polls that Trump does not have; for an incumbent Republican president to only be getting, you know,‍ low 40%‌ or high⁢ 30% in a ‌place like New Hampshire. That means 60% ⁤of the‍ people don’t⁣ want him. And even of ‍his own ⁢supporters, a recent poll says 50% would go ‌to somebody else if given a good‌ option, so he’s ‍in trouble when we ⁢get it really narrowed down.”

Sununu himself was seen as a potential ⁤2024 candidate on the Republican ticket and flirted with⁣ the decision, but ultimately ruled it out.
