Gun Control Advocate Alec Baldwin May Face Criminal Charges This Month for Fatal Incident Where He Failed to Control Gun
The Santa Fe District Attorney’s Office will decide later this month whether to file charges against Alec Baldwin Other people involved in the production “Rust” for their role in the death of the film’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, according to TMZ.
Hutchins, 42 was Baldwin fatally shoots While rehearsing, on Oct. 21, 2021 in New Mexico, a live bullet was fired from a prop pistol. Joel Souza, director of the filming, was also injured.
The crew could include armorer Hannah GutierrezReed and assistant Director Dave Halls. Both were responsible for the gun’s operation before Baldwin.
Baldwin repeatedly stated that he did not pull the trigger. An investigation found that Baldwin pulled the trigger to kill Hutchins, and this was the only way that the gun could have been fired.
The criminal investigation ended in 2022. However, it’s not known what charges Mary Carmack Altwies might consider against Baldwin and his crew.
October Baldwin The family of Hutchins settled a lawsuit for an undisclosed sum. As part of the agreement, Matthew Hutchins, Halyna’s widower, will act as an executive producer when the film resumes production.
