Gutfeld Destroys Republican Host Of ‘The View’ Over Balenciaga Hot Take
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld unloaded on Alyssa Farah Griffin — the newest Republican co-host of ABC’s “The View” — over her assessment of the recent scandal involving fashion house Balenciaga and a widely panned ad campaign involving children and BDSM-themed teddy bears.
Griffin and her co-hosts on “The View” addressed the scandal earlier in the week but had appeared to reach the conclusion that Balenciaga’s unattractive clothing was more offensive than photographing young girls holding teddy bears that were dressed in bondage gear.
Griffin also argued that one of the larger problems with ads like that was the fact that they gave “credence” to anti-LGBTQ sentiment and “far-right” efforts to attack the trans community in particular, “portraying trans people as groomers.”

“I don’t know if their intent is to be subversive and draw attention to the issues, or are they just making ugly things,” she huffed. pic.twitter.com/GVMt0EJ7fG

But Gutfeld pushed back, criticizing Griffin for her failure to just come out and say it was bad to sexualize children.

“They can’t agree with the right because then they lose their cash,” Gutfeld began, arguing that Griffin was among those tying themselves into rhetorical knots in order to avoid calling a spade a spade.
“On ‘The View,’ which is the show for people whose sweat pants stick to the sofa, the only Republican host they have says the worst part of the ad wasn’t the actual sexualization of kids, it’s that it gave the right evidence of that sexualization of kids,” Gutfeld continued.
“So it’s not about the fashion company making light about pedophilia, it’s the insane takes about people making light of pedophilia,” the host added. “It’s not arson that’s bad, it’s those loud fire alarms that let you know it’s happening.”
Gutfeld went on to explain that the real conundrum actually boiled down to one simple but unbreakable rule: the Left cannot condemn anything — even if it is truly and objectively horrible — if it forces them to align even temporarily with a Republican.
A number of celebrities have criticized Balenciaga in the wake of the ad campaign — including Brittany Aldean, who gathered items from the fashion house into two large bags and announced that it was “Trash Day.”
