Haley warns ‘Israel does not trust’ Biden and Harris – Washington Examiner

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, expressed ‍concerns over the growing conflict ⁣in the Middle East, suggesting it highlights a lack of trust between Israel and the U.S. leadership, specifically President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. In an interview, she criticized U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan and‍ the Biden administration⁣ for their comments about supporting Israel, arguing that Israel acted independently out of frustration with U.S. ⁢calls for de-escalation and because they anticipated threats from Hezbollah. Haley emphasized that⁣ Israel is wary of U.S. support due to perceived inadequacies in Biden and Harris’s approach. The situation escalated significantly when Iran launched its‍ largest ballistic missile⁢ attack on Israel, firing approximately 200 hypersonic missiles, ⁢following Israeli ground operations in Lebanon.

Haley warns ‘Israel does not trust’ Biden and Harris

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley cautioned that the escalation of war in the Middle East is a message to the United States.

“It’s funny to see [national security adviser] Jake Sullivan, or even [President] Joe Biden say, ‘Oh, we were with Israel the whole way,’” Haley told Special Report with Bret Baier. “No, Israel did this in spite of them. Israel was tired of them saying pull back. They were tired of saying deescalate. They were tired of everything else. They saw what Hezbollah was getting ready to do and they knocked them out before they had a chance to do it.

“Now, the U.S. is stepping up to be beside them, but make no mistake, Israel does not trust the U.S. Israel does not trust Biden and [Vice President Kamala] Harris because they haven’t been there,” Haley added.

On Tuesday, Iran launched its largest ballistic missile barrage against Israel ever, firing roughly 200 hypersonic ballistic missiles. The attack followed Israel’s “targeted” ground raids inside Lebanon on Monday evening.

Haley pointed blame at Biden and Harris for the escalation of war in the Middle East.

“They are the reason that this all happened — from the very beginning going back to Afghanistan, but, if you look at it, they haven’t even been a good friend to Israel,” Haley said. “They have constantly lectured them. They have constantly told them what they can and can’t do. They have done the same thing with Ukraine, not letting Ukraine use the missiles to go into Russia. All of these things have led to distrust with our friends.

“And so, you look at the time during Trump, there were no wars,” she continued. “There were no conflicts. And the reason is at least our allies knew where we stood. With Biden and Harris, they never know where we stand.”

Haley commended Israel for moving forward with protecting itself in the region. She suggested that Israel will continue to ensure its northern territories are safe for Israelis to come back to that area and expand its attack to hit the Houthis in Yemen.

“They’re not going to stop and they shouldn’t stop,” she said.
