Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has reported a ‍significant boost in fundraising, highlighting ‌an⁣ impressive $361 million raised in August alone, which they described as “the ‌largest haul of the 2024⁢ cycle.” This amount far exceeds former‌ President Donald Trump’s fundraising during ⁤the same period, nearly tripling his $141 million total. Notably, Harris’s campaign attracted‍ 1.3 million first-time donors, with‍ 75% of these individuals having not contributed in the previous election cycle. This surge ⁤in financial⁢ support follows her recent emergence at the top‌ of the Democratic ticket,⁤ replacing President Joe Biden in late July, suggesting a growing enthusiasm among Democratic voters. Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign celebrated “the largest haul of the 2024 cycle” with $361 million received in donations last month.

The Democratic nominee’s record-setting sum for August nearly tripled former President Donald Trump’s numbers and included 1.3 million first-time donors.

“75% of those donors didn’t donate last cycle,” a senior adviser to the Harris campaign said in a post to X.

Meanwhile, Trump raked in $141 million during his best fundraising month this year, with 25% of his donors in May being first-time contributors.

The vice president‘s abbreviated campaign has enjoyed a surge of enthusiasm after she replaced President Joe Biden at the top Democratic ticket in late July. August’s numbers show her entrance bump is proving to be a bigger problem for Republicans than they first expected as she continues to ride the wave of Democratic ardor.

Harris has boasted impressive numbers over the short sprint since the end of July, and Trump’s campaign has also boasted steadily increasing figures this year.

The former president’s campaign announced Wednesday that it received $130 million in donations during August. The news was a slight downtick from the roughly $138 million raised in July but signaled a sharp increase from the $65 million Trump and his affiliates had on hand at the end of January.

The Trump campaign said the average amount of donations received in August was $56. The average dollar donation for Harris during her first 11 days at the top of the Democratic ticket was $68, according to the Business Standard

Harris now has $404 million cash on hand, compared to Trump’s nearly $300 million.

Flush with funds, the Harris campaign announced Tuesday it is sending nearly $25 million to down-ballot Democratic candidates ahead of Election Day.
