Harris Says She Values Staff Despite 92 Percent Turnover As VP
During a recent CNN town hall, Vice President Kamala Harris described one of her perceived flaws as caring too much for her team, asserting that this quality is, in fact, a strength. She emphasized the importance of surrounding herself with intelligent individuals who contribute diverse perspectives to her decision-making process. However, her statement comes in light of a report revealing a staggering 92% staff turnover rate within her office since taking on the vice presidency, raising concerns about the work environment. Critics, including former staff and watchdog organizations, have suggested that the office has a “toxic” atmosphere, with claims of chaotic management under Harris’s leadership. The negative experiences reported by her staff, including feelings of constant criticism and support for her alleged lack of confidence, have sparked significant discussion about her leadership style.
Vice President Kamala Harris said one of her flaws was that she cares too much about her team.
During CNN’s town hall Wednesday night, the Democrat presidential nominee was lobbed the most cliché question for any interview when an attendee asked her to identify self-examined weaknesses.
“Perhaps a weakness, some would say, but I actually think it’s a strength, is I really do value having a team of very smart people around me who bring to my decision-making process different perspectives,” Harris said.
The vice president testified to her own virtues with a straight face in prime time despite a nearly 92 percent staff turnover rate, according to an investigation from government watchdog organization Open The Books (OTB) published this summer.
“Chaos reigns on the vice president’s staff,” non-profit founder Adam Andrzejewski said. “Our auditors at OpenTheBooks quantified an extraordinarily high 91.5-percent staff turnover rate.”
As The Federalist has previously reported, “[s]taffers in Harris’ office have reported a toxic work environment since 2021, when The Washington Post spoke with 18 individuals in Harris’ orbit.”
“One of the things we’ve said in our little text groups among each other is what is the common denominator through all this and it’s her,” Democrat strategist Gil Duran, who worked for Harris in 2013 and reportedly quit after five months, told the paper. “Who are the next talented people you’re going to bring in and burn through and then have (them) pretend they’re retiring for positive reasons.”
“It’s clear that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work,” a former anonymous staffer told the Post. “With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why.”
During the town hall Wednesday night, Harris also peddled the Democrats’ same hysterical messaging that former President Donald Trump is a 21st-century Adolf Hitler.
“Do you think Donald Trump is a fascist?” asked Anderson Cooper.
“Yes, I do,” she said.
The CNN town hall followed previous remarks Harris made earlier in the day from her official residence in Washington, D.C. where she amplified the left’s latest attempt at smearing Trump as an aspiring dictator.
“So, yesterday, we learned that Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, a retired four-star general, confirmed that while Donald Trump was president, he said he wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had,” Harris said.
