A Harvard Athlete Criticizes Biden Administration’s Approach to Transgender Sports

In a recent interview on Fox Business “Varney&Co,” Harvard athlete Abby Carr voiced her criticism of the Biden administration’s handling of the transgender sports conversation. Carr accused officials of adopting it as their ‘civil rights movement’ at the expense of female athletes.

“I think the Biden administration, quite frankly, is trying to have their civil rights moment. They’re trying to make this their civil rights activism purpose is they’re going to save transgender sports. However, they’re doing that by discriminating against women,” Carr stated.

Carr shared her personal experience of competing against trans swimmer Lia Thomas in 2022, who was representing the University of Pennsylvania at the time. According to Carr, Thomas consistently outperformed her competitors, winning almost every race.

“At the time, we were advised to stay quiet just to focus on our own races, really just to focus on winning our own Ivy Championship,” Carr claimed.

Carr also expressed her belief that Thomas had a biological advantage in every race she competed in.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre recently faced criticism for dismissing a question about the safety of women playing with biological males in sports as “dangerous.” This response comes amidst the ongoing debate surrounding transgender athletes participating in sports not aligned with their biological sex.

“I spoke about it a few weeks ago, and I said something to the effect of my journey in athletics has been far-reaching and formative, but I should not have to race biological males. I’ll even use the terminology that the left wants – assigned male at birth. I should not have to race someone in that capacity because it is simply not fair. And yet it’s become so politicized that we can’t even have these conversations openly and honestly,” Carr emphasized.

As the conversation around transgender sports continues, athletes like Abby Carr are speaking out against what they perceive as unfair treatment and the potential disadvantages faced by female athletes.
