Sen. Josh Hawley Urges Immediate Action for Accountability in the Justice Department
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is not willing to wait for a Republican majority in the Senate to address the alleged “criminal bribery scheme” involving Hunter Biden, then-Vice President Joe Biden, and Ukrainian founder of Burisma, Mykola Zlochevsky. In a passionate statement, Hawley emphasized the need for a special counsel to investigate the matter and ensure justice is served.
IRS Whistleblowers Shed Light on Hunter Biden’s Financial Dealings
Hawley’s remarks came shortly after IRS whistleblowers testified about Hunter Biden’s financial activities during a heated Capitol Hill hearing. The revelations from this testimony have raised concerns about corruption within the FBI and the IRS, with influential figures attempting to obstruct investigations into the president and his son.
“What we found out today,” Hawley shared on The Ingraham Angle, “is that the FBI and the IRS have become incredibly corrupt at the top. You’ve got influence at the top trying to shut down investigations into the president and his son. And I will tell you what the No. 1 thing we need right now is an independent special counsel who will go after this and get the facts and do justice.”
Questioning Biden’s Integrity and DOJ’s Involvement in Election Interference
Hawley raised important questions about Hunter Biden’s potential involvement in criminal activities and whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) played a role in election interference. He highlighted the FBI’s misleading claims regarding the laptop’s origin and the subsequent censorship efforts by tech companies.
“The FBI was actively telling the Big Tech companies that the laptop was, in fact, Russian misinformation, that you had all of those former intelligence officials signing a letter that now we know is totally false, saying that we know that it’s Russian disinformation when, in fact, it was totally true,” Hawley explained. “The FBI knew it was true, knew the information was accurate on the laptop. Not only did they do nothing to correct the record. They went out and urged the tech companies to censor it.”
Demands for a Special Counsel Investigation and DOJ “House-Cleaning”
Hawley called for an immediate special counsel investigation and a thorough “house-cleaning” at the DOJ. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, labeling it as one of the biggest scandals in American history, involving potential foreign bribery and the enrichment of an American president through illicit means.
“We’re talking about one of the biggest scandals in American history — maybe the biggest involving an American president,” Hawley asserted. “This is foreign bribery we’re talking about. We have got to get the facts here. The American people deserve this.”
Hawley concluded by urging swift action, stating, “We need to push for accountability right now. We need a special counsel now. We need [Attorney General Merrick] Garland on the hook now. We need [Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro] Mayorkas impeached now. Let’s not wait. Let’s do it now.”
