Armed Man Found Dead at Park with Cryptic Message

Heavily⁤ Armed Man ‍Found Dead at Amusement Park Near Message Written on Wall

A‍ shocking incident ‍unfolded⁣ at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado over the weekend. A heavily armed man was discovered dead in a ⁤women’s restroom, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Before taking his own⁤ life, the man left a chilling message on the bathroom wall.

The man was identified as 20-year-old Diego Barajas Medina from⁣ the nearby⁣ community of Carbondale. He was⁣ found armed with a rifle, a pistol, and multiple magazines for both weapons. Additionally, he was dressed in tactical gear, including body armor⁤ and a helmet, and was in possession of homemade explosive devices.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office ⁣revealed that Medina’s body was found in the women’s restroom where the disturbing message was written. The message read, “I‍ am not a killer. I just wanted to get into the caves.” Although it⁣ is unclear if Medina wrote the ⁤message himself, the incident has raised ⁤concerns about his motives for entering the amusement park.

Despite some of his weapons being fake, ⁤authorities warned that Medina was still ‍capable of carrying out a violent attack. The Garfield ⁢County Sheriff’s Office stated, “Given the amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices found, the suspect could have implemented an‍ attack of devastating proportions upon the community and first responders.”

Following the incident, police conducted a search of Medina’s shared home and found no criminal record associated with him. The park, which offers thrill rides and natural caves to explore, was temporarily closed ⁣for investigation but has since reopened.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park released a statement expressing their sorrow over the tragic event and thanking the authorities for their swift action. The park has been‍ in operation since 1999 and remains committed to ‌providing a safe environment for visitors.
