Heritage launches million-dollar ad campaign boosting Tulsi Gabbard’s Cabinet nomination

EXCLUSIVE — The conservative Heritage Foundation is pouring a million dollars into an ad campaign boosting President Donald Trump‘s Cabinet nominees, with the latest touting Tulsi Gabbard, his pick for director of national intelligence.

The Heritage Foundation will air the ad, first shared with the Washington Examiner, amplifying Gabbard’s military experience and praising her as a nominee who would put “country over party.” The think tank will begin blasting the ad Tuesday across the country as it seeks to educate voters on Trump’s Cabinet picks.

“Tulsi Gabbard: Battle tested, America first,” the voiceover in the ad says. “And now President Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence. Ready on day one to reform our intelligence.”

Gabbard’s ad will specifically target those in the “influencer audience” in Washington, D.C., according to the foundation, and will be posted on X, YouTube TV, and through text chains. The influencer audience being targeted consists of conservative Hill staffers, lobbyists, major donors, and think tanks.

The ad is part of a larger campaign seeking to target the home states of key senators who will be crucial to confirming Trump’s Cabinet picks. The campaign has previously pushed ads for other nominees, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Kash Patel, who may face an uphill battle to be confirmed by the upper chamber.

Gabbard’s nomination surprised many in the intelligence community as the former congresswoman does not have any experience in the intelligence realm, and she has raised some eyebrows by promoting views that appear sympathetic to Russia.

Since then, Gabbard has been meeting with different members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, hoping to gain bipartisan support for her bid.

Gabbard has not yet had her confirmation hearing scheduled with the committee due to paperwork delays. It’s not yet clear when that may be held.

Only one member of Trump’s Cabinet has been confirmed so far: Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was approved in a 99-0 vote Monday. Other noncontroversial confirmations are expected to come later this week, including John Ratcliffe for CIA director and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) for ambassador to the United Nations.

The Heritage Foundation has also sought to weigh in for more contentious nominees, such as Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for defense secretary. The conservative think tank circulated a letter supporting Hegseth’s military record, which currently holds more than 1,600 veterans’ signatures, according to the foundation.
