Hezbollah leader declares all of Israel at risk in a major conflict
The leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, issued a stark warning of a potential all-out war with Israel, stating it would have no “rules or ceilings.” During a ceremony honoring Talee Abdullah, a senior Hezbollah commander killed in an Israeli airstrike, Nasrallah emphasized that no location in Israel would be secure if such a conflict were to erupt. This statement underscores the ongoing hostility and sporadic confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah, a dynamic that has persisted for years.
The leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned on Wednesday of a war “without rules or ceilings” in the event of a full-scale conflict with Israel.
“No place” in Israel would be safe in such conflict, Nasrallah said while speaking at a ceremony to commemorate slain senior commander Taleb Abdullah, who was killed last week in an Israeli airstrike.
Israel and Hezbollah have been enemies for decades and have continually engaged in tit-for-tat rocket and missile attacks along their shared border since Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack in Israel. The international community is desperately seeking to avoid a regional conflict.
On Tuesday, Hezbollah released a nine-minute video of drone footage from a drone that purportedly flew over Israel. The video was a thinly veiled threat as Hezbollah demonstrates its capabilities.
Rich Goldberg, a senior adviser for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the Washington Examiner, “Hezbollah has been testing in the last couple of weeks in particular, as they’ve been escalating, and to some extent, the Israeli air defense has failed,” adding that “it’s not clear that Israel’s air defenses are fully up to the job of intercepting and defeating swarm drones, and I think Hezbollah knows that.”
Nasrallah claimed the group has “greatly exceeded” 100,000 troops.
Israel’s foreign minister, Israel Katz, said in response to the video, “We are very close to the moment of decision to change the rules against Hezbollah and Lebanon. In an all-out war, Hezbollah will be destroyed and Lebanon will be severely hit.”

The Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday that “operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon were approved and validated,” while its spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said, “Hezbollah’s increasing aggressing is bringing us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation, one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region.”
The two sides last went to war in 2006. The war lasted about a month and ended when a U.N.-brokered ceasefire went into effect.
