In Season 1 of “Home Town Takeover,” the Napiers renovated 12 buildings and homes in Wetumpka, Alabama. Season 2 focuses on the even smaller town of Fort Morgan, Colorado, where they renovated 6 more buildings than before, according to Distractify.
Now, the Napiers are using their platform to raise awareness about their new initiative, Osprey. During their appearance on CNN News Central, they explained that Osprey aims to help elementary-age children and their families foster “social lives without social media.”
@ErinRNapier and #BenNapier of #HGTV kicked off this past week group to keep children off social media apps, by going “old school.” #OSPREY – Old School Parents Raising Engaged Youth – hopes to get families to join “nests” when their kids are young, before they have #cellphones. pic.twitter.com/e6Nwd8O1PI

The Napiers believe that starting early is crucial in preventing children from becoming dependent on social media. They emphasize the importance of forming communities and support networks among families who share the same goal of raising children without social media.
While some may question the feasibility of this concept, the Napiers argue that social media addiction is not just a problem for kids but for everyone. They encourage parents to remember their own childhoods when they didn’t have smartphones and were still happy.
Osprey offers resources such as a guidebook and an online directory for families to connect with each other. The ultimate goal is to create a culture where children can have fulfilling social lives without the need for social media.
If you’re interested in joining Osprey, you can visit their website to learn more and connect with other families who share the same values.
