Former secretary of state and ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton attempted to remind the audience at the 77th Tony Awards that voting continues to be important.
Clinton took the stage at the Tony Awards on Sunday to introduce the company of Suffs the musical.
“I have stood on a lot of stages, but this is very special, and I know a little bit about how hard it is to make change,” Clinton said. “So I’m extremely proud of this original American musical by Shaina Taub.”
Suffs opens in 1913 and chronicles the suffragists leading a “relentless pursuit of the right to vote,” according to the musical’s website.
