‘Hillfluencer’: AOC Glossy GQ Cover Story Mocked By Conservative Media And Political Commentators

A glossy GQ cover story featuring Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was mocked Wednesday by members of the media and political commentators, who labeled her a “hillfluencer,” a wanna be celebrity, and more.

Radio host and political commentator Dana Loesch tweeted in response to one write up about Ocasio-Cortez’s October cover article under a headline that read, “AOC predicts she won’t be president-because Americans ‘hate woman.’” In the GQ piece, AOC said that she used to believe “anybody can grow up to be president” in America, but now feels that “many people in this country hate women” and “women of color,” so it won’t happen.

“We hate tyrants,” Loesch replied. “Big difference.”

Constitutional law attorney, former senior legal advisor and personal counsel to President Donald J. Trump, and a contributor to Newsmax, Jenna Ellis, had a different take for AOC on her claim about why she won’t be president.

“Lol AOC won’t be president because most Americans hate stupidity,” Ellis tweeted.

Conservative political commentator and author Noah Rothman pulled out another portion of the story in which Ocasio-Cortez appeared to bemoan the checks and balances of our government, saying that there are “still plenty of limitations,” even if she were to be president, to get her ambitions through.

“Would love to read an AOC fishing of Federalist 10,” Rothman tweeted.

“I’m glad AOC knows what a woman actually is, but our problem is with her socialist agenda, not her gender,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) tweeted.

Those “limitations” are a feature, not a bug, AOC. https://t.co/VE43MqxdAX

AOC isn’t a congresswoman. She’s a hillfluencer.

If AOC wasn’t on magazine covers I’d never hear about her. https://t.co/5BucpdNngJ

amazing she’s able to fit in all these media appearances with her busy legislative schedule.

she has a busy legislative schedule, right? https://t.co/IOHnGHt07k

In a GQ cover story, AOC theorizes about being president but is worried about the checks and balances of… the other branches of government. pic.twitter.com/WzR8JfLyrY

LOL.. just LMFAO https://t.co/2fVADJkCE2

— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) September 7, 2022

As a member of Congress AOC has supported legislation to blow up the Supreme Court and lobbied Biden to take exec action to circumvent Congress he doesn’t have the authority to take.

No surprise that a President AOC would want to do away with checks and balances altogether. https://t.co/RLvKl6bHVu

Some even noticed that the magazine was hiding the replies to their article about the congresswoman.

GQ out here hiding replies. Dying… https://t.co/2fVADJkCE2

Reading through the thread from the original GQ article, it was clear some of the comments were labeled “hidden.”

But members of the media weren’t the only ones who called out the congresswoman for her “wokeness,” and wrote that AOC appeared to be more interested in being a star rather than fighting for her constituents.

“I can’t afford food and shelter”

AOC will be worse for the people than Hillary ever was.
This is a woman who only mentioned kids in cages to get to this magazine cover. https://t.co/3gXaSDcEsr
