Why it matters: The United States suffered another embarrassing defeat on President Joe Biden’s watch, highlighting the need for a strong America. In contrast, the United States won the World Baseball Classic 2 months after Donald Trump took office in 2017, beating Puerto Rico 8-0, with Japan finishing in third place.
Context: President Trump managed to break the so-called Obama Curse, which prevented US teams and players from dominating in sports.
