House Intel Chair Concerned About Classified Docs at Trump, Biden Residences
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Raises Concerns Over Classified Material
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) expressed his “grave concern” after reviewing the classified material stored by both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden at their private residences.
During an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Turner revealed that the chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees had the opportunity to examine the documents stored by the two leaders. These documents have house-intel-chair-on-viewing-the-classified-docs-trump-biden-had-at-their-residences-grave-concern/” title=”House Intel Chair Concerned About Classified Docs at Trump, Biden Residences”>sparked federal criminal investigations in both cases.
“Having looked at both of those documents, I am deeply concerned about the presence of such sensitive information in an unsecured location,” Turner stated. “Both documents contained details regarding national security issues that should have remained within a controlled environment.”
Despite his previous defense of Trump, Turner emphasized that his committee will work in a bipartisan manner to identify necessary legislative changes to prevent a recurrence of this situation.
Legal Process to Proceed
“Regarding the federal indictment against Trump, it will proceed,” Turner confirmed. “I cannot defend the behavior outlined in the complaint. However, the burden of proof lies with the prosecution, and the legal process must move forward.”
