House Oversight Seeks Testimony From Key Biden Partner Who Transferred $1 Million

A Hunter Biden business associate was asked by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee to testify before it. This came a day after financial documents revealed that Walker had transferred $1 million to Biden family members, days after receiving a wire transfer from a Chinese energy company.

James Comer (R.Ky.), Chairman of Oversight Committee, wrote a letter to John Robinson “Rob” Walker asked for an interview to be transcribed before the panel on Friday. Walker was asked to contact the committee to schedule an appointment before March 24, the letter stated.

“Subpoenaed financial records reveal that from 2015 to 2017, Biden family members—Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown ‘Biden’—and their companies collectively received over $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to Rob Walker,” His office wrote. “Most of the payments to the Biden family came after Rob Walker received a $3 million wire from a Chinese energy company.”

On Thursday, a new disclosure found that $3 million was wired from State Energy HK Limited on March 1, 2017, to Walker’s Robinson Walker LLC, according to the House Oversight panel. It later stated that payments were sent incrementally between March and May 2017 to Biden family accounts including those belonging Hunter, James, or Hallie Biden.

“After the Robinson Walker, LLC account received $3 million from State Energy HK Limited, Biden family members and their companies began receiving incremental payments over a period of approximately three months,” A memo from this committee said. “The recipients of the money included Hallie Biden, companies associated with Hunter Biden and James Biden.”

Unknown bank account with the identity “Biden” According to the memo payments of up to $70,000 were also received. It is not clear who managed that account.

Republicans claimed that the transfers were evidence of a Chinese state-energy firm being linked to the Biden families, but their letters only indicated that funds were transferred from Walker’s account to Biden family accounts on March 2017. The money was not sourced from China.

The Epoch Times reached out to Hunter Biden’s lawyer, James Biden’s spokesman, and to an email account associated Hallie Biden about Comer’s memo regarding the money wires. Walker has not made a public comment.

In a statement Friday, Comer described Walker as a “key witness” Republicans’ investigation into the Biden family’s dealings. Comer cited a recorded conversation between Tony Bobulinski and Walker Biden, who wrote that “Walker once said that exposing him would ‘bury all of us, man.'”

“These records reveal that the three parties likely all received a third of the money from China and it is unclear what services were provided in return,” The chairman added. “The Oversight Committee has many questions for Rob Walker,” He said: “and we look forward to getting answers for the American people.”

‘Baseless’

On Thursday, the White House spokesperson slammed Comer’s findings. She said that the House Oversight probe was a waste of time and suggested that President Biden’s immediate family should be exempt from the investigation. The spokesperson suggested that in particular, Hallie Biden—the widow of Beau Biden—is being unfairly singled out by Republicans.

“Instead of bizarrely attacking the president’s family, perhaps House Republicans should focus on working with the president to deliver results for American families on important priorities like lowering costs and strengthening health care,” The spokesperson spoke to news outlets.

And a spokesperson for Hunter Biden’s lawyers told Fox News: “Here we go again as Rep. Comer takes something old and tries to make it new by wrapping it in a wild and baseless right-wing conspiracy.” Although Comer’s claims and questions regarding 2017 wire transfers were not addressed by the spokesperson, they confirmed that the payments were received by members of the Biden family, without going into detail.

“The accounts so dramatically listed by Rep. Comer belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie—nobody else,” the spokesperson said.

Hunter Biden released a statement in December 2020 stating that federal prosecutors were investigating his tax affairs. The details of the investigation, which is led by U.S. Assistant David Weiss has not been disclosed.

Hunter Biden requested the information as Hunter filed a lawsuit against John Paul Mac Isaac, a Delaware-based laptop technician. He was accused of invading Hunter’s privacy after Mac Isaac sued him. According to reports, the younger Biden dropped his laptop off at Mac Isaac’s repair shop many years ago.

“No matter how they came into his initial possession, Mac Isaac improperly accessed files that he admits were ‘none of [his] business’ even though he was never given permission by Mr. Biden to access or review any data of Mr. Biden’s,” The suit states. Later, the shop owner made copies of the data and distributed them to others.
