How Adam Schiff Rode The Resistance to Political Riches
Rep. Adam Schiff (D. Calif.) wants voters think that he is a selfless patriot, who lost his assignments in his committee to hold former President Donald Trump accountable.
However, his financial records show a different story. That of a relatively unknown congressman that climbed himself to the top. “Resistance” Bandwagoning and stealing tens of billions of dollars from donors across America.
A Washington Free Beacon A review of Schiff’s financial disclosures reveals that the California Democrat increased his fundraising efforts right as he started his campaign to impeach Trump. Schiff spent only $134,000 on fundraising in 2016 and by 2018, had invested almost $2 million in ads encouraging supporters. “chip in” to assist him in his investigations of Trump’s alleged dirty dealings.
However, these donations were not used to fund oversight efforts that are funded by congressional committees. In 2016, Schiff was not well-known in the United States and had only $2.1million on hand. But as the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, he was in a prime position to boost his profile as rumors began to swirl about the then-president-elect’s alleged ties to Russia.
Early March 2017 Schiff began to suggest to reporters that he had evidence of Russian interference in 2016’s election. The New Yorker Soon dubbed him An “unlikely liberal hero” Who was? “ready to investigate Trump.” Schiff’s name was in the headlines by the end of the month and was a regular on cable news.
The 6 April 2017 Los Angeles Times Declared that Schiff’s “aggressive role in the Trump-Russia investigation” made him The “hottest commodity” California politics. His campaign placed a $25,000 online ad buy on April 14, the largest of its kind.
So began a cycle.
